Amanda Slope

The Craft of Bookbinding

Amanda Slope is a Bookbinder with great experience. She attended the London College of Printing as a mature student qualifying in 1991 after a three year full-time course, leaving with a BTEC, HND in Design Bookbinding. While at college she had two Design Bindings exhibited at the British Museum.
After graduating she opened her own bindery in Great Missenden High Street. During the past 19 years she has undertaken many private and business projects from a photograph album for the Derby winners at Epsom race track to repairing family bibles and binding family histories written by local residents.
She will be explaining the craft and history of bookbinding, using examples of her work.
Please bring along any books for which you would like advice as to their suitability for repair. Come and enjoy a relaxing afternoon learning about this greatly needed craft whilst enjoying a convivial tea.
Please note: Amanda does not give valuations and will not take away work to do.
